More than class hours: a whole environment
Learn French, get guidance, meet French speakers, discover Paris and get support beyond the classroom.

You’re not alone with the challenges of life in France
Arriving, studying or living in France can be hard at first. Paperwork, habits, housing, transport, administration, communication: many questions go beyond simply learning French.
At ISMAC, many students and team members know these challenges very well and can help you better understand your new surroundings.

A team that understands international students
Several staff members and teachers speak other languages, including Japanese, Korean, Chinese, English and Spanish.
If you face a serious difficulty, someone can help you understand, while encouraging you to keep progressing in French.
Practise French with French speakers
ISMAC is not just a French school. French-speaking students also come here to learn foreign languages. This naturally creates opportunities to meet French people, chat, practise and improve through real conversations.

Discover French culture with us
Every month, ISMAC organises educational outings. Museums, neighbourhoods, cultural venues, exhibitions or walks around Paris: these moments help you understand French culture better and practise French in a different way.

An international environment in the heart of Paris
ISMAC also works with international companies and partners, especially Japanese, Korean and Chinese ones.
The school is a place where French students, international students, teachers, professionals and different cultures meet.

Your questions before you start
When can I start?
We welcome students all year round. Once your level is confirmed by the placement test, you can join a class on a Monday.
Complete beginners (A1) start on set session dates: the next intensive A1 sessions begin on 1 March 2027 and 21 June 2027.
If you already have a residence permit, send your application at least 2 weeks before your course starts.
I don’t know my level. What should I do?
Start with our placement test: it lets us assess your actual level and guide you to the most suitable class. If you have never studied French, you start directly at level A1.
Can I come to the school in person?
Yes, you can enrol on site: you complete your application at reception, then we book an appointment for the written and oral test with a teacher.
Campus Guyton — 11 rue Guyton de Morveau, 75013 Paris. Metro Corvisart (line 6) or Tolbiac (line 7).
Can I try a class before I start?
Yes. After your placement test, a free trial class lets you discover your class, depending on your situation and availability.
Which documents do I need?
- A copy of your passport or residence permit
- An ID photo
- If you have already studied French: a results or pass certificate (DELF, DALF, TCF)
What’s the difference between 10 and 20 hours?
The 20 hours / week course means faster progress and deeper immersion. It is required for any student visa application or renewal.
The 10 hours / week course is for students without a student visa and leaves more time for studies or work.
Can I get help if I don’t understand some procedures in France?
Yes. Our team offers a personal welcome and administrative support in several languages. It knows the situations international students face in France well and can help you understand your procedures.
